Background:
The Vidal Partnership's client Sprint, teamed up with international Latin pop star Juanes, to offer consumers more than just minutes. The mobile phone carrier offered one lucky consumer "A Moment with Juanes". The sweepstakes strategy connected Latinos to music, a popular interest among the demographic. The tactic awarded two tickets to attend a Juanes concert and the opportunity to meet him in person, which garnered many entries.
Mechanics:
- To enter, consumers visited www.batanga.com/sprint and uploaded a video expressing why they should win a moment with Juanes.
- Consumers were also able to enter by sending a video message via a participating wireless device.
- Followed by a screening process, entries were posted on the promotion website for online consumer voting and comments.
