DJA’S CAMPAIGN FOR TWC/ADELPHIA INTEGRATION EVENT WINS
WORLD-CLASS ‘DIAMOND’ AWARD FOR MARKETING BEST PRACTICES
Celebration and Presentations Set for Jan. 31, 2007 at the Rainbow Room in New York
NEW YORK, Dec. 18 – Don Jagoda Associates’ campaign for Time Warner Cable has won a 2007 Diamond Award for Best Practices in Marketing.
“This was a truly outstanding campaign in the sense that its entry was by invitation only, competition was global, and it was judged by an impartial jury against the best work of dozens of agencies worldwide,” said Amie Smith Hughes, awards chairman and managing editor of The Global Marketer.
In 2006, TWC acquired assets of Adelphia Communications including cable systems that would expand the company’s footprint and enhance its geographic subscriber clusters. TWC challenged DJA to develop a campaign that would introduce them as a new, different, customer-centric, and innovative entertainment and communications company. DJA answered with a multi-tiered mobile marketing promotion in the effected markets with a simple message: ‘Welcome to Time Warner Cable! Your New Cable Company’.
“It is especially gratifying to know we were able to help TWC meet it's marketing objectives in light of the increased competition the cable industry is now facing from satellite and telephone companies. Thus DJA will be honored at a special celebration on January 31 at The Rainbow Room in New York City.
The Diamond Awards are produced by the editors of The Global Marketer, an Internet publisher of marketing case studies. Entries were organized by marketing discipline and product category, then judged by a panel of 17 client, agency and media executives from seven countries.
“This year’s total number of entries was a tremendous increase over last year’s and includes some of the most creative and sophisticated campaigns I’ve ever seen,” said Amie Smith Hughes, awards chairman and Global Marketer managing editor.
The majority of campaigns entered had previously been honored for excellence in their own countries, said Ms. Hughes. Diamonds participation is by invitation only, she explained, because we are looking for truly outstanding world-class campaigns.”
